The Aladdin Intellectual Property Management solution overcomes the difficulties encountered when storing, archiving, and managing documents
and files submitted as intellectual property. The solution offers a customized plug-in that seamlessly integrates the PatraWin application
for intellectual property (IP) submission and registration (www.patrawin.com) with the document management capabilities of Xerox DocuShare CPX.
The resulting integration empowers IP managers to securely archive, control, and rapidly retrieve documents associated with intellectual property claims.
Eliminating the need to rely on overburdened databases for storage and retrieval, the Aladdin IP Management solution offers all the capabilities of DocuShare.
The customized storage user interface (UI) provides further visibility into the lifecycle of every document, including submission, registration, and storage
dates, as well as version control and alerts for document expiration and destruction. All activity is date and time stamped, supporting maximum compliance
with the archiving and storage of IP information. The UI also offers enhanced Search capabilities, permitting users to search on all document metadata
simultaneously from the same search view.
DocuShare capabilities leveraged by this integration include version control, document lifecycle management, encrypted storage
and access permissions down to the document level, and advanced search capabilities. The DocuShare Email Agent, included in both
DocuShare and DocuShare CPX, also supports submission of email attachments directly into the system. DocuShare functionality is
accessed within a common user interface, enabling users to drag and drop digital files into PatraWin, select Store, and then
rapidly review a complete IP file plan dynamically retrieved from the DocuShare repository. Users may then search and rapidly
retrieve IP submissions placed into the DocuShare environment using any relevant document keyword, title, or case number.
Multiple storage options in the file plan permit easy integration with other enterprise applications, such as ERP or CRM
systems. Organizations may further leverage DocuShare’s Web publishing capabilities to make specific information or documents
grouped under a common case number available in a public-facing Web portal. This enhancement enables viewers to self-serve
information on registration status and download commonly requested forms for IP submission.

from DocuShare for easy browsing within PatraWin. A right-click on any document
opens a window in DocuShare showing history, version, and status. Users may also
select documents in this window for forwarding via the DocuShare email integration
(previously called DocuShare Email Agent).
