DocuShare CAD-Archive supports cad files from the AutoCAD and the Microstation application*. Aladdin uses Rasterex components to read Xtref information from cad files without needing the actual cad application. The components can also create thumbnails (jpeg and tiff), and extract block attributes from the files. DocuShare is used to create alternative renditions and compound document features, allowing the main cad file, the alternative renditions, and the Xtrefs to be handled as one object. Aladdin also utilizes the DocuShare web client to present the cad files as thumbnails, making use of the alternative renditions that our windows client uploaded together with the Xtref files and the main cad file. *Support for different file types will be governed by different licenses.
