Description
DSLink is a tool that assists in fast indexing, enabling publishing a document in Adobe PDF format (for example, an image file that has been captured from a scanner) and associating properties with it by filling out a custom data entry form. The user is guided at the time of capture to select indexing values, including field types (alphanumeric or numeric), choices from a list of preset values, dates, and other metadata. This makes it possible to accelerate the process of indexing, while avoiding human error. By providing an interface for capturing key words and other data, DSLink helps to facilitate publishing and maintain coherence of stored data. A user can select from a specified number of custom fields. DSLink can publish documents in several ways:
- From a 'watched' directory (for example, a directory that is the repository of digitized images from a photocopier)
- From a button in Adobe Acrobat
- From Paperport 9.0, by dragging a document to be published to the DSLink icon
Benefits
- Speed of indexing
- Ability to control image before indexing
