Description
DSCDCreator is an add-on module to DocuShare that allows the creation of CD-ROMs or DVDs of documents exported from DocuShare. From the Web interface, the user selects in a "Basket" the collections/documents to be transferred to CD-ROM/DVD. On the workstation equipped with a CD-ROM/DVD burner, the user selects these files and then initiates the engraving. All associated taxonomy and properties are transferred to the CD-ROM/DVD with the document. DSCDCreator therefore addresses the needs of users who need to carry a portion of the documents stored on their Xerox DocuShare server with them.
A customer example is a large Telecom company which uses DSCDCreator 2.0 to help enable technicians to search/access technical documents filed in DocuShare on a portable PC, while working off-line on customer sites. In this way, technicians can access critical documentation while carrying out maintenance and equipment service calls.
