Document Curator (X) watches nominated folders/sub folders for incoming files, and automatically uploads them as standard document objects into the DocuShare repository. Auto document upload: simple document files (such as Word docs), TIF files from networked scanners, or files from Kofax Ascent Text Release scripts, and scanning templates from Xerox Document Centres can be watched for, and data from document management fields can be included in the uploaded metadata. Named collection search: a collection name provided via Multi-Function Device (MFD) Document Management Field or Kofax OCR can be used as the document upload destination. Database lookup: DocuShare data fields can be populated by data extracted from ODBC-compliant databases based on key data supplied by MFD or Kofax. The utility can also handle failed check-ins, manual indexing and ODBC database lookups. Desktop application or windows service: can be run as an interactive application for setup and debugging, then configured as a service for production use. This runs on the same Win NT or 2000 platforms as DocuShare or on another Win 2000 or NT machine. (A Unix version is NOT available.)
