NASA using Xerox's data-sharing software
Xerox Corp. scientists say their DocuShare document-sharing softare has become a key tool for researchers at NASA, particularly for sorting through hundreds of thousands of engineering charts, videos, technical manuals and other pieces of information for major projects at NASA. DocuShare has also allowed NASA scientists to share data that has been continuously transmitted since the two rovers--Spirit and Opportunity--landed in January on Mars and began to roam the surface. More than 1,000 scientists, engineers and university team members worldwide are using DocuShare to simultaneously access NASA Jet Propulsion Lab's more than 100,000 files and 100 gigabytes of organized mission data.
